Chelsea is a sorority sister of ours and is an Emily proclaimed make-up extraordinaire, so who better to do the job, right?
Take it away, Chels!
Hi, everyone! I’m
Chelsea from A Daily Dose of Chelsea.
I was thrilled when my two favorite Emilys asked me to write a beauty post
specifically for fall!
I’ve been out of my blogging element due to finishing up
grad school and job hunting, but I’m back. Now on to the fun stuff!
Fall is the perfect
time to transition your beauty products from the hot summer months to the
frigid winter temperatures. It’s also the opportune time to try new beauty
looks!
Matte Lips
Leave that shimmery lip gloss at
home and try something new!
Natural matte lips are office-appropriate, while
neon colors stand out on the weekends.
MAC’s
Matte and Retro Matte lipstick formulas are sure to please. Their signature
vanilla scent and multitude of colors are perfect for everyone! I suggest
trying “Heroine.” Its bold purple color can be sheered out by patting it on
with your finger if you are sold on the shade.
If you are more of a drugstore girl
(like myself), Wet n Wild and Maybelline have you covered when it comes to
quality matte lipsticks. Check your local drugstore to find Maybelline’s
Color Sensational Creamy Mattes or Wet n
Wild’s Mega Last Lip Color. I love to layer Wet n Wild’s Sugar Plum Fairy
and Cherry Picking for the color below.
Bold Brows
Bold brows: Please, please, I am begging you;
get rid of those tweezers! Your brows and your face will thank me later. Your
brows should be natural looking, not drawn in. I am partial to Anastasia
Beverly Hill’s DIPBROW Pomade. The lightweight mousse-like pomade stays put
ALL DAY LONG and looks natural when applied using an angled brush and spoolie.
NYX Eyebrow Gel
is going to give you the same look for half the price! Its waterproof formula
will last all day and the plastic tube is perfect for travel while you go out
of town for fall break.
Add a little color
With the changing of the
leaves comes the end of a golden summer tan (from a bottle, of course!). Just
because the days are shorter doesn’t mean you have to lose all of your color. A
lighter bronzer with add a glow to your face and chest even when the sun isn’t
shining. Benefit
Hoola Bronzer is a classic choice. Its neutral coloring works on almost any
skin tone without making you look orange.
A very similar product is NYC’s
Sunny Bronzer. I use this bronzer as a face powder in the summer months and
bronzer in the fall and winter months. Just like Hoola, its neutral tones won’t
make you look like an Oompa Loompa. The best part? Its $3 price tag!
We want to know, what fall trends are you looking forward to?
Thanks so much for stopping by Chelsea! Everyone be sure to keep up with Mrs. Chelsea and get all of her fab makeup tips and tricks!
